Job Description

Overview

Working in an agile software development environment, the Oracle Sr. PL/SQL developer is responsible design and documentation at an application level for wide variety of applications/services . The candidate would u tilize engineering and programming skills focused on p articipating with Architecture, Operations and Enterprise Delivery PPM teams within Agile processes. The role will include systems and solution design within the existing architecture, as well as design/implementation of improvements to meet business needs. The candidate will work collaboratively with the Development, IT Operations, and QA teams both onshore and offshore in implementing software configuration management best practices to accelerate and optimize delivery methodologies. The candidate is responsible for preparing value stream mapping and look for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for maintaining the tools and processes for a large, enterprise level system in a fast-paced, agile, service- oriented environment.

Good understanding of the full stack software development (databases, user interface) .

Work with team members to manage and administ er enterprise-wide development tools – GIT, GitHub, SVN (Subversion), SonarQube, Confluence.

Automate build, packaging, testing and deployment processes using DB scripts .

Responsible for continuous integration and continuous deployment for multiple initiatives across all products.

Work with production release team to identify and implement methodology for highly flexible and responsive releases (weekly, biweekly, monthly and bimonthly).

Automate e nd to end build processes, patching, and production product deployments.

Structure and maintain the software configuration management to build very secure and high availability systems.

Scale infrastructure to meet rapidly increasing demand . Monitor site stability and performance and troubleshoot site issues .

Working closely with Delivery teams to engineer solutions for production/enterprise automation efforts across all lines of business within Enterprise Delivery PPM .

Work with various stakeholders to set-up required lower level and production environments including the deployment of applic ation developer database upgrades .

Review deployment procedures and execute deployments that ensure environment reproducibility .

Incorporate software testing automation at multiple levels (component, configuration item, subsystem, system) and monitor results .

Emphasiz e automation, implement processes, procedures and best practice guidelines for code management .

Manage cross-functional requirements working with Engineering, Product, Services, and other departments.

G uide teams with development best practices, including improved scalability, performance, reliability, and speed to market.

Requirements

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Masters or bachelor’s in engineering in IT/ Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Systems.

10 + years’ of Oracle Database Development experience with latest development skills on Oracle

Experience using the PLSQL Developer or Toad software packages

Experience with writing adhoc scripts and stored procedures

Experience developing queries, procedures, and reports for enterprise Oracle environment

Designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance.

Design, create, and implement database systems based on the end user's requirements.

Improve application's performances.

Prepare documentations for database applications.

Strong knowledge on oracle collections and p erformance analysis with large data sets .

Mentoring and giving technical guidance to team members.

Experience in designing and maintaining logical and physical data models

Experience performing SQL and PL/SQL tuning

Familiarity with Enterprise Oracle DB deployments.

Experience with collaborative version control systems ( G it/ GitHub/ Subversion / Bitbucket ) .

CI/CD Project Management Tools: JIRA, Confluence .

Experience in Data Modeling

Supporting delivery teams in database design

Performing code reviews .

Release deployments and support

Identifying and fixing DB related issues from DB side as well as application end.

Helping SMEs by providing the logic behind the existing systems

Experience in Data Modeling and Query Optimization

DBA related activities like session kill, temp space issues

QA/UAT test data preparation

Ability to learn and quickly absorb new material , Strong error handling, troubleshooting skills.

Experience in BI tools like ETL ( Informatia , SQL Loader), SAP-BO and Tableau reporting would be helpful.

Experience in any of these programming areas helpful: Java or .Net

Experience developing applications embracing Agile principles .

Professional with ability to properly handle confidential information.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.

Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines.

Experience in health care industry is a plus .

Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision .

Must be able to sit and use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
