DEPARTMENT BRIEF: 

The Engineering team of Trading Solutions is in the process of updating the front-end and back-end infrastructure of our Portware Enterprise trading platform. At the same time, we are integrating FactSet’s top product suites to enhance client workflows.

SUB-PROCESS BRIEF:

The Front Office Solutions team provides leading solutions for Portfolio Managers and Traders across the Portfolio Lifecycle. Our products, such as Portfolio Management Platform (PMP), FactSet OMS, Portware/FactSet EMS, and Analytics APIs, can be used together or separately with other client products. From analysis to execution, our solutions drive the front office.

We are currently looking for a ‘Software Engineer’ to join our team. This role will involve leading the major rewrite project, transitioning from the existing monolithic server infrastructure to modern cloud-native microservices that are multi-tenant, auto-scalable, and distributed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and develop software programs to meet business requirements

• Collaborate with the product team to understand the requirements and propose technical solutions

• Implement test-driven development methodologies and create automated unit and integration tests

• Work in an agile team environment and collaborate with architects, engineering leads, managers, and product managers

• Guide and support other junior engineers in design, implementation, and code reviews

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field

• 2 - 8 years of experience in Core Java programming for building server-side platforms for real-time enterprise-wide applications

• Solid understanding of Java core APIs, including collections, multi-threading, and real-time messaging technologies

• Knowledge of Google Protobuf and Microservices is desirable

• Experience with AWS cloud tech stack is a plus

• Understanding of financial equity or derivatives products, market data feeds, trade lifecycle, and post-trade processing, portfolio management, order, and execution management systems

• • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
