Get to Know the Role

We are looking for individuals with experience working within distributed environments to join our big data engineering group. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and be based onsite in Singapore. You will automate multiple big data flows, performance engineering, and building the internal big data pipeline platform to maintain the quality of our critical data. We offer the opportunity to work with a world-class engineering team managing petabytes of data in Southeast Asia.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design the data warehouse schema in Bigquery and also be able to write code to process data from heterogeneous sources like APIs, PubSub, Transactional Databases.
• Lead, design, develop and manage data pipelines on the data ecosystem.
• Be hands on development in designing and developing ETL/ELT processes to ingest data into the data warehouse with focus on data quality and profiling.
• Participate in collaborations in external and team members and build SLAs.
• Take ownership of not just the Data Platform but also building the right
• Practise to lead the way forward for the team.
• Collaborate across teams and translate the requirements into actual workable
• Technical solutions.
• Ensure data quality and governance and participate in code reviews with focus on high quality technical documentation.

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• Bachelors/Masters in mathematics, computer science or other related quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years experience in data engineering roles.
• Familiarity with Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Spark, Flink, Airflow, Kafka, and Cloud software such as
• Redshift, EMR, BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, BigTable, PubSub etc.
• Exposure to big data solutions from various data sources such as AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud.
• Familiar with CI/CD and automating the deployments from dev to staging to production
• platforms.
• Experience with Data Warehouse concepts - Fact/Dimension Tables, CDC, SCD,
• partitioning and bucketing strategies.
• Proficient in writing complex SQLs, and experience in at least anyone of Java/Python/Golang.
• Experience in Metadata management, data discovery and creating data lineages.
• High personal code/development standards (peer testing, unit testing, documentation, etc).
