In People Planning you will be part of a mature team that operate and continuously develop and improve our solutions used in 20+ countries as well as implement solutions for new countries. A rollout project is ongoing to phase in a new solution; this requires the team to develop country specific APIs to our library in order to fulfill our decoupled architecture, thus we safeguard the standard and parameterization for the new landscape.
WHO YOU ARE We are looking for engineers who have a passion for technology and want to contribute to innovation of the future IKEA.
You should feel comfortable working with a variety of technologies and should have experience with cloud development on GCP – you have a good understanding of cloud storage, databases, serverless and you understand how to use cloud-native in production. You should be a good communicator, eager to learn new things and contribute to the team’s development and ways of working.
You should have: • Formal qualifications in computer science or any engineering equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as software engineer with similar level of experience in the tech stack mentioned below
• Experience of working in agile/iterative software development teams with a DevOps working set-up
• Experience with cloud computing environments
• Good ability to communicate technical concepts and processes clearly at an appropriate level to team members, stakeholders and suppliers
To succeed in the role, we see that you:
• Have experience from building, deploying cloud-based applications and services using Node.js, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and PubSub
• Are proficient in Node.js, with Java, Golang and/or Python being a beneficial addition
• Have worked with both relational and NoSQL databases and are proficient in SQL, preferably BigQuery
• Have worked with backend/integrations development
• Have hands-on experience with GCP and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
• Are experienced with containerization technologies like Docker
• Are familiar with Git and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub
• Have a solid understanding of API design and REST API
• Have experience in agile teams and self-organization
• Have good knowledge of software engineering practices and cloud technologies using industry standard toolsets
• Are Tech Agnostic: Are comfortable working with various technologies.

You will:
Be responsible to develop, run and maintain high-quality code of the assigned Product or Service using the right toolsets required in order to meet consumer expectations on the delivery
Develop high-quality software design and architecture in accordance with good practices and agreed standards, such as Ingka Software Security Directives, to ensure delivery according to requirements and compliance
Work in agile teams across areas, contributing to the development and maintenance of Products and Services
Apply and promote good software engineering practices, including continuous integration and delivery, within an agile/iterative development approach in order to improve time to market and fulfill business needs
Drive change activities in different environments in order to secure functionality and availability
Deliver tests, performance analysis, configuration management and creation of functional/feature specifications to improve the Product/Service delivery
Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies in order to boost innovation and productivity for optimization/modifications to the current design and development productivity
Provide support and guidance as needed to consumers and other engineers encouraging good practices
