Data Scientist, Global Planning Operations in Supply Chain Operations
Job Summary:
We are looking for a data scientist to join the Global Planning Operations team in Bangalore who is excited about solving supply chain problems using data and applying statistics & machine learning techniques to analyze and leverage vast amounts of information for insight and action. What you will do:
- Support Design, Solutioning and/or Brain Storming Supply Chain business problems, identify and draw on leading-edge analytical tools and techniques to develop creative approaches and new insights to the issues through data analysis.
- Work with data under minimal guidance from business leaders to identify new trends and insights based on data and get creative to drive improvements or enable better decision making.
- Projects, analysis & reporting, and other responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Proactively recommend solution improvements for existing and/or new Solutions.
- Performs other duties assigned as needed.
- Liaison effectively with multiple stakeholders and other functional disciplines. Collaborate with other cross-functional and IT teams for end-to-end delivery of solutions use cases.
Responsibilities
- Identify valuable data sources and automate collection and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with IT & Business Intelligence team to locate the relevant and accurate data sources.
- Undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
- Perform exploratory analysis on data to discover trends and patterns to support business processes, solve supply chain problems.
- Build ETL pipelines to fetch data and refresh reports.
- Present information using data visualization tools/techniques.
- Build & deploy predictive/prescriptive models using statistics & machine learning.
- Follow-up and incorporate business needs/feedback to enable adoption of solutions with simple and intuitive user experience.
- Create Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Spec Documents (FSDs) etc. capturing requirement, approach, findings, feedback, etc. for enabled solutions.
- Responsible for communicating with business to enable better transparency, agility and effectiveness.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data-Science/Statistics/Industrial Engineering/Computer Science/a graduate degree/diploma in Data Science and or quantitative field is preferred.
- Experience with demand, inventory, and/or supply planning is highly preferred.
- Experience in data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning modeling, optimization, or similar analytics.
- Experience with tools like Alteryx workflow design, Docker, Git, Unix deployment environments.
- Experience using business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Knowledge of Excel, SQL, Python, & R for data analysis.
- Working knowledge of data frameworks such as Snowflake.
- Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques.
- Proven ability in demonstrating, developing, and deploying large to medium analytics Solutions in-house or in client Environment will be highly preferred.
- Analytical mind and driven to solve complex problems.
- Ability to communicate data insights in appropriate detail to all levels of the organization.
- Well-organized, a self-starter, independent and ready to work with minimal supervision.
- A respectful and committed teammate, willing to excel and work with talented people.
- The ability to work effectively and implement solutions in a cross-functional team environment will be preferred.
