The Group: Equity Operations – Global Quality & Process Engineering
The Global Quality & Process Engineering works with teams across the company to help transform and improve our quality, practices, processes, and methods. Each member of this team serves to enhance customer experience by using philosophies and frameworks like Lean, Agile, Design Thinking, Diagnostic Approach, Client Centricity by using state-of-art technologies like Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Programmatic Anomaly Detections. This team stays abreast of emerging technologies, people practices, and other concepts related to the “future of work” and help introduce them in the organization.
The Team: The pursuit of quality at Morningstar is deeply ingrained in our culture and it is a key part of the value we bring our clients. measures, builds, sustains, and owns the processes across the company that help us deliver quality data, products, and services. Sampling Audit team, a sub-team of Global Quality & Process Engineering provides independent, comprehensive and client focused measurement on database through audit projects and insights on quality improvement that help us deliver quality data, products, and services.
The Role: The team seeks a self-motivated, analytical Associate Data Quality Assurance Analyst to help develop and implement data quality projects to maintain and improve the quality of Morningstar databases. This role will be closely working with Client Feedback, Methodologies, Technology & Data Operations reflecting Accuracy, Consistency, Historical Continuity, Relevance, Completeness & Timeliness through executing the Audit and Quality & Process improvement projects.
Responsibilities:
- Audit on a broader scope which involves identifying outliers/anomalies that did not meet the established logic
- Perform end to end analysis to comprehend the causes for outliers/anomalies to validate the results
- Provide structured recommendations: Verbal/written feedback for the Calculation team for modification of logics
- Assess the performance of Data Analyst & Senior Data Analyst through audit
- Analysing ‘Client’ feedback/emails/responses to check for factual correctness
- Review the requirements of Client & ensure they are addressed by collaborating with Operations
- Retrospect and look for continuous process improvement ideas
Requirements
- Professional or Master’s degree in Mathematics/Statistics/Finance & over 2-3 years of must have experience in Equity Data.
- Career aspirations towards CFA, CPAs or CAs will be preferred.
- Understanding of capital markets and its functioning would be an added advantage
- Strong knowledge of Finance and Accounting.
- Effective team communication within or across functional boundaries
- Combination of Agile mindset, Lean culture & driving change
- Excellent analytic skills and a strong attention to detail. Knowledge of Advanced MS-Excel is a plus.
- Knowledge on Power-BI, VBA, SQL, Python, PostgreSQL will be added advantage.
- Works cohesively with team members in pursuit of team & project goals. Participates in group activities within the team. Builds stable working relationships internally.
