The Product Owner for Numerator Link is responsible for the development and maintenance of our bot infrastructure and web scraping. This role will work closely with the Product Manager to execute our roadmap of new bot builds and sophisticated methods of data collection. The Product Owner will work closely with the development team to diagnose and resolve data issues.

Here's what you'll be doing on a day to day basis:

  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Run stand-ups, sprint planning, and refinement sessions for the development team, ensuring clear communication and alignment within the team.
  • Backlog Management: Maintain and prioritize a backlog of tickets consisting of well-defined user stories, enabling the team to deliver commitments effectively and efficiently.
  • Alignment with Product Strategy: Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to translate product strategy and goals into actionable steps (tickets) for the development team.
  • Collaboration and Prioritization: Work with engineering leads and the product team to ensure alignment on sprint priorities, fostering effective collaboration.
  • User Story Creation: Provide clear direction to the engineering team by crafting user stories with precisely defined acceptance criteria, encompassing testing and validation to meet the definition of done.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage resource allocation across different initiatives, working closely with engineering leaders to ensure optimal utilization of key engineering talent.
  • Quality Assurance and Testing: Participate in acceptance testing of features and conduct validation tasks before release to ensure accurate implementation.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a liaison between the development team and other stakeholders, collaborating closely with Analytics, Release Management, and downstream teams to diagnose and resolve data issues.
  • Feedback Management: Track, analyze, and manage both internal and external end-user feedback about products to refine the roadmap, backlog, and priorities.
  • Advocacy and Issue Resolution: Serve as an advocate for the engineering team, proactively escalating issues, implementing process improvements, resolving blockers, and gaining alignment on important decisions.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Collaborate with engineers to maintain up-to-date internal documentation for better knowledge transfer and team alignment.
  • Communication: Provide clear and concise status updates to various technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Product Launch Preparation: Prepare for product launches and create supporting documentation.

  • Capable of independent work while demonstrating initiative and teamwork.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data-related tasks.
  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Swiftly transitioning between high-level and granular technical discussions, adaptable to new areas of work, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Agile Framework Competence: Comfortable managing complex technical requirements in an Agile framework and making structured decisions.
  • Decision-Making & Analytical Skills: Strong decision-making abilities, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
  • Organizational & Communication Skills: Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical Proficiency & Continuous Improvement: Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a bias for action and continuous improvement mentality.
  • Prior Product Owner experience or solid understanding of Agile/Scrum processes.
  • Experience with agile or product management software, preferably JIRA.
  • Familiarity with consumer, retail, or eCommerce datasets at a granular level is a nice to have.
