Job Description:

EDSI Commercial Engines (EDSI-CE) is looking for software/methods engineer for web development to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India.

The methods team is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing web applications which includes the automation of both technical and business processes that will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine fleet management.

Responsibilities:

Learn and understand the needs of the engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality software for the engineering organization.
Setup scalable server infrastructure and databases in the Azure cloud environment.
Develop new user-centric pages, components, and apps.
Ensure feasibility and excellent user experience.
Opportunity for full stack development and being involved in all stages of the software development process.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Mentor and train lower experienced software developers with tasks and assignments.
Exhibit the project leadership in terms of milestones, schedules & quality of deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (with 3+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 3+ year experience) in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.
3+ years of experience in Full stack development.
3+ year of experience in ANY of the following: Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, CSS.
Willingness to stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues efficiently.
Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Possesses excellent judgement and professional maturity.
Strong developer who is comfortable learning new languages, libraries, and frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong understanding of server-side languages and frameworks such as Django (Python) / Express.js (Node) / Spring Boot (Java).
Expertise in building user interfaces and experiences with React / Angular / Vue.js.
Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with deployment processes on Azure/AWS.
Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
