Job Description

Working in Cybersecurity & Technology Controls (CTC) as a Cyber Application Associate means that you will make use of creative and critical thinking to solve problems for products and applications that protect JP Morgan Chase. You will work collaboratively on a variety of initiatives while also putting your analytical skills to support and manage critical applications. You will be exposed to production management as well as software development life cycles. You will be responsible for documenting, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving problems that impact customers while also looking for process improvement opportunities. In addition to this you will also put your development skills to use to contribute towards modernization projects. Communication is the key, since you will be collaborating not only with your peers but also with cross-functional teams and teams outside of CTC. In return you will have the opportunity to develop professionally in this role or in various other areas CTC has to offer.

Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions to automate manual & operational task
  • Develop tools and visualization to understand our customer experience and their product interaction
  • Responsible for the availability, performance, incident & change management, telemetry, and capacity management of their services
  • Engage with the engineering team throughout the product/application life cycle to help build for reliability
  • Take part in root cause analysis and post-mortem to identify and eliminate gaps and improve service
  • Analyze usage and telemetry data to identify patterns to predict and prevent failure
  • Manage the efforts to split between operational and development work
  • Primarily day shift with occasional weekend support as part of the shift rotation (part of the global team who provide 24x7x365 coverage)

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including but not limited to:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a support and/or development role
  • Development focused:
  • Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Experience with any of high-level programing language such as Java, JavaScript, Python, shell scripting etc.
  • Experience with Agile and full software development life cycle disciplines will be preferred
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline and testing framework will be preferred
  • Cloud focused:
  • Experience with Public Cloud offering related to compute, storage, networking, messaging, automation (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc.) and data will be beneficial (AWS preferred)
  • Application support focused (preferred):
  • Experience with system administration in Linux and/or Windows platforms
  • Experience supporting End-User issues via ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
