AWS Security Operations Engineer

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• 6–10 years of IT experience, with at least 4+ years focused on AWS security.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS security services (WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub, Config, IAM, KMS, Network Firewall).
• Solid understanding of:
• PCI-DSS requirements
• Cloud security architecture principles
• RMiT requirements
• Zero Trust architecture
• Network segmentation and firewall policies
• Experience with incident response and vulnerability management processes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
• Experience supporting audits and regulatory compliance assessments.

• AWS Certified Security – Specialty
• AWS Solutions Architect – Professional / Associate
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CISM or CISA
• PCI-ISA (advantage)

• Deep knowledge of:
• VPC architecture, subnet segmentation, routing, NACLs, Security Groups
• Encryption in transit and at rest
• Logging and centralized monitoring strategies
• Experience with SIEM integration.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash) for automation.
• Understanding of container security (EKS/ECS security best practices).
