Senior Data Engineer

Role Description

You own the infrastructure and the pipelines. Everything you build serves AI agents and client-facing products in production. You'll also be the go-to data engineering partner for other critical teams across the company.

Data Platform (50%)

- Own reliability and performance of data infrastructure on AWS and SingleStore

- Zero downtime tolerance - if the platform goes down, AI agents and client products go dark

- Build infrastructure that lets AI agents query and act on production data safely

- Set up monitoring, alerting, and self-healing that catches problems before humans do

- Manage access control infrastructure including MCP server integrations for AI systems

Data Engineering (50%)

- Build and maintain production data pipelines serving both human and AI consumers

- Design orchestration and scheduling that handles dependencies and fails gracefully

- Integrate ERP systems, product databases, and third-party APIs into one coherent layer

- Own data quality - validation, testing, and anomaly detection built into every pipeline

- Work with product teams to deliver the data their AI agents need, in the right shape, at the right freshness

Requirements

- 5+ years building and operating production data systems that businesses depend on daily

- Deep hands-on AWS experience (S3, Lambda, Step Functions, or equivalent)

- Strong SQL and experience with analytical databases (SingleStore, ClickHouse, or similar)

- Production pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Apache Dolphin, Step Functions)

- Solid understanding of networking, security, and access control at the infrastructure level

Strong Signals

- You've built data systems that serve AI agents or LLM applications in production

- Experience with AWS Bedrock Agents, MCP, or similar patterns for structured AI-to-data access

- E-commerce or similarly high-velocity operational environments

- ERP data integration (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
