Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Lead QA Engineer to lead and manage quality assurance activities across projects, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, international standards, and company quality management systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving quality excellence, supporting project execution, and maintaining client confidence through effective quality planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of project Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) plans, procedures, and processes.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards such as ISO 9001, project specifications, client requirements, and regulatory codes.
- Act as the primary QA focal point for projects, interfacing with clients, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct and coordinate internal audits, external audits, and quality reviews to ensure adherence to quality management systems.
- Review and approve quality-related documentation including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, quality procedures, and vendor documentation.
- Oversee supplier and subcontractor quality performance, including qualification, audits, and surveillance activities.
- Lead root cause analysis, non-conformance management, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and leadership to QA/QC engineers and inspectors across projects.
- Support project management teams by identifying quality risks and ensuring timely resolution to prevent schedule or cost impact.
- Facilitate quality training and awareness programs to promote a strong quality culture within the organization.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management and project leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline).
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control within EPC, oil & gas, energy, utilities, or heavy engineering projects.
- Proven experience in a lead or senior QA role, managing quality teams and interfacing with clients.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and other relevant international codes and standards (e.g. ASME, API, IEC, ASTM as applicable).
- Experience with vendor quality management and subcontractor oversight.
- Professional certification such as IRCA Lead Auditor or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient in quality documentation, reporting, and project-based quality systems.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
