Automation Test Engineer – Web Applications (Java Selenium)

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Automation Test Engineer with 2–4 years of experience in web application automation testing using Java and Selenium, preferably within the banking or financial services domain.

The role involves designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of web-based banking applications. The candidate will work closely with developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to validate functional workflows, data accuracy, and integration across banking systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements for banking applications and identify automation opportunities.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing for web applications using automation frameworks.
• Validate banking workflows such as customer onboarding, transactions, loan processing, payments, and account management.
• Automate validation of data-driven processes and document workflows within banking systems.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks, utilities, and libraries to improve automation efficiency.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and faster release cycles.
• Execute automated tests, analyze results, and identify defects or anomalies in application behavior.
• Validate backend data using SQL queries to ensure accuracy of transactions and customer data.
• Document defects, track issues, and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution.
• Generate automation reports, execution summaries, and test documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development, product, and operations teams to ensure quality delivery.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in automation testing of web applications.
• Strong experience with Java and Selenium WebDriver for automation testing.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as TestNG or JUnit.
• Banking or financial services domain experience is mandatory.
• Understanding of banking processes such as customer onboarding, KYC, loans, payments, and account management.
• Basic knowledge of SQL queries for backend data validation.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, ALM, or similar tools).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Exposure to API automation testing tools such as Rest Assured or Postman.
• Understanding of Agile / Scrum development methodologies.
• Experience validating document-driven workflows or data verification processes in banking systems.
