Lead Backend Software Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Tech Lead to drive the design, development, and scalability of backend systems and data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in backend technologies, hands-on data engineering experience, and proven leadership capabilities to guide engineering teams and deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable backend systems

• Drive technical decisions and ensure best practices in software development

• Mentor and manage a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and code reviews

• Build and optimize data pipelines and data processing systems

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, analytics, and DevOps

• Ensure system performance, reliability, and security

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them where relevant

Must-Have Skills

• 2-4 YEARS Strong experience in Tech Leadership / Team Handling

• Proficiency in Java and/or Python

• 8+YEARS Solid experience in Backend Software Development (APIs, microservices, distributed systems)

• Hands-on experience in Data Engineering, including tools/frameworks such as:

• Apache Spark

• Databricks

• Apache Iceberg

• Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Databricks (advanced usage, optimization)

• Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor)

• Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, containerization, cloud platforms)

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Experience working in agile environments

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
