Group Cloud Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Group Cloud Lead to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our Group cloud environment. This role is responsible for shaping and executing the cloud strategy, ensuring secure, scalable, and cost‑effective cloud platforms that support business objectives and digital transformation initiatives.

You will work closely with IT leadership, security, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions and modernize enterprise applications and infrastructure. This role requires strong hands‑on AWS expertise combined with the ability to provide technical and architectural leadership at an enterprise level.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a Group‑wide cloud strategy and governance framework in alignment with business requirements
• Lead the design, implementation, and operational management of cloud infrastructure and services
• Collaborate with IT, security, and business teams to ensure effective integration and operation of cloud solutions
• Oversee the migration of applications and data from on‑premise and cloud environments to AWS
• Ensure cloud environments meet security, availability, scalability, and performance requirements
• Manage cloud budgets and drive cost optimization initiatives
• Drive modernization and automation of applications and infrastructure using cloud‑native technologies
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud performance and operational issues
• Develop and maintain cloud disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Provide architectural guidance in governance forums and steering committees
• Ensure cloud options are assessed as part of broader enterprise architecture and technology investment decisions
• Act as the key point of contact for cloud service providers and system integrators
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members
• Keep current with cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional

Experience

• 5–10 years of relevant experience in cloud engineering or cloud architecture roles, including hands‑on AWS experience
• Strong experience with AWS services including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, networking, security, storage, backup, and recovery
• Proven experience leading cloud migrations from on‑premise to cloud and cloud‑to‑cloud (AWS)
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise cloud landing zones
• Experience working with system integrators to deliver cloud migrations and transition into steady‑state operations in a medium‑sized multinational environment

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture, security, and operating models
• Experience using change management and project delivery toolsets
• Professional project management certification is preferred
