Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Android Developer with approximately 6 to 8 years of experience to join our mobile engineering team. You will play a key role in designing and developing high-quality Android features, collaborating closely with product, design, and backend teams, and ensuring the performance, scalability, and reliability of our Android app. You will also contribute to technical decisions and mentor junior developers where needed.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin (and Java as needed).
Collaborate with Product, Design, and Backend teams to define, design, and implement new features.
Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into polished, responsive code.
Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of the app across devices.
Integrate with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and other performance issues.
Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code robustness and reliability.
Participate in code reviews and uphold high code quality standards.
Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers, helping to grow the team’s capabilities.
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in Android development.
Good exposure into data structures and dependancy injection

Qualifications & Skills

6 - 8 years of hands-on experience in Android application development.
Strong proficiency in Kotlin (Java knowledge is a plus).
Deep understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and the Android ecosystem.
Solid experience with architectural patterns like MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.
Experience consuming RESTful APIs and working with data-driven applications.
Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
Good understanding of memory management, background processing, threading, and performance optimization.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Experience with Jetpack libraries (e.g., Navigation, Room, Coroutines) is advantageous.
Experience publishing apps on the Google Play Store is a plus.
