Designation: Software Engineer II

Preferred Experience: 4+ years

Summary:

The Software Engineer II is responsible for the development of the platform and related modules, as well as supporting customers and the development community.

Responsibilities:

• Develop new features and fix bugs that improve the platform, architecture, infrastructure, and functionality.
• Write unit and integration tests with JUnit.
• Work with enterprise-level technologies.
• Participate in the production release of the software.
• Perform code reviews to ensure code adheres to high-quality standards.
• Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively.
• Respond as needed to questions and requests from the Client Services team, customers, and community members that involve some type of technical support.
• Bring your creative thinking, strategies, and ideas to advance our company’s values, unique culture, and vision for the future

Requirements and skills:

• Strong software product and code debugging skills.
• Experience and confidence working in and making updates to a Cloud-based, production SaaS software system.
• Experience working with relational databases - including reading and writing SQL, executing SQL queries, and analyzing results.
• Deep understanding of JavaScript and Java. The ability to read and understand product software codebases is essential for root cause analysis.
• Experience with NoSQL document stores, like Redis.
• Familiarity with the Jira ticketing system used for planning, tracking, and providing updates on work.
• Experience with AWS.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 3+ years of professional experience (not internship) building Java-based applications using Spring and Hibernate.
• 3+ years of experience designing, building, and consuming REST APIs in a security-conscious environment.
• 3+ years of experience working with relational databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with Angular, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and mobile web development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain ideas to both technical and nontechnical people.
• Familiarity with agile, git and related processes/technologies.
• Familiarity with Jenkins.
