Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Lead Data Engineer to design, build, and lead enterprise-scale data platforms across Data Warehousing, Data Lake, Data Mesh, and Data Vault architectures. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with strong architectural vision, leadership capability, and business communication skills.
The ideal candidate will drive modern data platform initiatives, enable analytics and AI use cases, and ensure scalable, high-performance, and governed data ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the design and implementation of enterprise data architectures including:
- Data Warehousing
- Data Lakes
- Data Mesh
- Data Vault modeling
- Architect and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using:
- Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC)
- Python and PySpark-based data engineering frameworks
- Design and manage data orchestration workflows using tools like Apache Airflow
- Develop and optimize data solutions across:
- Oracle databases
- Snowflake
- Databricks
- Drive best practices in:
- Data modeling (Dimensional, Data Vault, Normalized models)
- Data quality
- Metadata management
- Performance optimization
- Data governance
- Collaborate with business, analytics, and AI teams to enable:
- BI dashboards
- Self-service analytics
- AI/ML and GenAI use cases
- Provide technical leadership:
- Conduct architecture reviews
- Mentor junior engineers
- Establish coding and design standards
- Lead technical discussions and stakeholder presentations
Required Skills & ExperienceCore Technical Skills - Strong expertise in:
- Data Warehousing concepts (Kimball, Inmon)
- Data Vault 2.0 architecture
- Modern Data Lakehouse patterns
- Data Mesh principles
- Hands-on experience with:
- IDMC or similar enterprise ETL tools
- Python & PySpark
- Apache Airflow
- Oracle, Snowflake, Databricks
- Strong SQL and performance tuning capabilities
- Experience in designing reusable, scalable data pipelines
Analytics & AI Exposure
- Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Working knowledge of AI/ML pipelines
- Exposure to Generative AI integration within data platforms is a plus
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to explain complex data architectures to business stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving mindset
- Experience leading data engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in BFSI, Healthcare, or regulated industries
- Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Snowflake or Databricks certifications
- Exposure to Data Governance tools
