Tech Product Manager (Merchant)

CAKE is looking for a passionate and technical product manager to join our growing team! You will define and execute the product vision for merchant-facing solutions, including:

• Payment acceptance.
• Merchant onboarding.
• Merchant analytics.
• Settlement & reconciliation.
• Merchant growth tool.

You will work at the intersection of fintech and commerce to build products that help merchants thrive on our platform.

What You‘ll Do:

• Identify merchant pain points through user research, merchant interviews, field visits, and data analysis to surface high-impact product opportunities
• Translate business goals and merchant needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering and design teams.
• Lead end-to-end product lifecycle for merchant-facing features: merchant onboarding flows, payment acceptance (QR, POS, online gateway), settlement & reconciliation, merchant dashboard, and merchant analytics.
• Stay current on merchant banking regulations (SBV guidelines), payment industry trends, and emerging merchant technology to keep Cake’s offering competitive
• Clearly communicate the product vision, roadmap, and priorities to all stakeholders.

Who You Are:

• 3+ years of experience in Tech Product Management, ideally in fintech, merchant services.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Solid technical foundation: comfortable with APIs, system integrations, data flows, and working closely with engineering teams.
• Experience with or knowledge of payment products: QR code payments, card acquiring, payment gateways, or POS systems is a strong advantage.
• Data-driven mindset: able to define metrics, analyze funnels, and make evidence-based product decisions.
• Proven track record of launching products or features from 0-to-1 or driving significant improvement on existing products.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in digital banking or payment services in Vietnam is a plus.
• Highly self-motivated, ownership-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

Our Tech stacks:

• Our core services consist hundreds of Golang microservices built around domain oriented, event driven architecture. All run on GCP, GKE, Istio with autoscaling, resiliency and chaos engineering mindset with full end to end observability.
• Our mobile platform was running on Flutter, component based, composable architecture. Web app largely on TypeScript, React, NextJS, Tailwind CSS and composable in-house design components and framework.
• GitHub for all code repository, CI/CD, with Backstage as centralized developer productivity platform.
• Devops culture, you are fully responsible with design, build, and operate your own services with support from SRE, Platform team as needed.
• Open-source lover, and open-source contributor. All tooling and platforms used was in-house custom built on popular open-source projects
