This role requires deep technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and strong problem-solving capability.
Key Responsibilities-
System Architecture & Design-
- Develop and manage system architecture, subsystem definitions, interfaces, and system-level specifications.
- Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies using tools like SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, Cameo, etc.
- Ensure compliance with MIL, Aerospace, and Industry Standards throughout design and development.
Requirements & Configuration Management-
- Lead requirements capture, flow-down, traceability, and validation using tools such as Jira, Confluence, DOORS, or similar.
- Manage requirement updates, change control, and system baselines.
Integration, Testing & Validation-
- Plan and execute system integration, functional testing, and validation activities for components and complete UAV systems.
- Define and maintain SOPs, test procedures, and validation frameworks.
- Participate in environmental, functional, and endurance testing of aerospace systems.
Product Life Cycle & Process Management-
- Lead end-to-end Product Life Cycle (PLC/PLM) from concept to manufacturing, deployment, support, and retirement.
- Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and certification teams.
RCA, CAPA & Quality Assurance-
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and quality assurance for system and component issues.
- Drive reliability improvements using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Documentation & Reporting-
- Prepare and maintain design documents, analysis reports, integration logs, V&V reports, risk assessments, and certification documentation.
- Ensure accurate data analysis, data tracking, and system performance reporting.
Compliance, Certification & Standards-
- Ensure adherence to relevant certification standards (MIL-STD, DO-178C/DO-254/DO-160, ISO, AS9100, etc.).
- Support regulatory and customer audits.
Technical Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration-
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in design reviews, technical discussions, and system decision-making.
- Collaborate with supply chain, vendors, manufacturing, software, electronics, avionics, and flight test teams.
- Provide mentorship and enforce high standards of technical discipline and engineering excellence.
UAV & Aerospace Systems Knowledge-
- Strong understanding of UAV and aircraft layouts, propulsion, avionics, communication modules, sensors, powertrain, ground systems, and payload integration.
- Support integration of new technologies, components, and subsystems into the UAV architecture.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong System Engineering / MBSE Profiles (Aerospace/UAV/Defense Domain)
- Mandatory (Experience 1): Must have 6+ years of experience in System Engineering with hands-on exposure to system architecture design, subsystem definition, and interface management specifically in aerospace, UAV, drone, defence, or other complex safety-critical engineering domains
- Mandatory (Experience 2): Must have strong hands-on experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using tools such as SysML, MATLAB/Simulink, Cameo, or equivalent for system modeling, simulation, and architecture definition (not just theoretical exposure)
- Mandatory (Experience 3): Must have end-to-end system lifecycle experience covering requirements capture, architecture/design, integration, testing, validation (V&V), and deployment of complex engineering systems
- Mandatory (Skills 1): Strong expertise in system architecture, requirement flow-down, traceability, and configuration/change management using tools like DOORS, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
- Mandatory (Skills 2): Hands-on experience in system integration, functional testing, validation, and verification (V&V), including defining test strategies, SOPs, validation frameworks, and participating in real system-level testing
- Mandatory (Skills 3): Solid understanding of aerospace/defense standards such as MIL-STD, DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, AS9100, and practical experience working in compliance-driven or certification environments
- Mandatory (Skills 4): Strong experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and structured problem-solving methodologies applied to system-level failures and performance issues
- Mandatory (Leadership):Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams, driving design reviews, and making system-level technical decisions in multi-disciplinary engineering environments
- Mandatory (Tools / Technical):Working knowledge of Python scripting for debugging, system analysis, test automation, and data extraction during system integration phases
