Job Title: Senior Test Engineer

Working location: Panbil Industrial Estate Factory C 02-03 Jalan Ahmad Yani, Muka Kuning Batam Indonesia 29433(Cognex’s contract manufacturers PCI’s site)

The Operations organization at Cognex is responsible for achieving the cost, quality, and delivery requirements of our customers globally. It partners with multiple business units for the design and development of products and throughout active product lifecycles.

The Role:

This Test Engineer will accept a role in providing support for production test equipment and business processes around testing units. These responsibilities are ultimately focused on maximizing production throughput while maintaining product quality. This role regularly needs to effectively interface with design, process, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering to solve product issues and production problems.

Essential Functions:

Assist in managing a deployed fleet of hundreds of pieces of test equipment and related test software modules.
Create and enforce qualification standards across multiple product lines and functional departments.
Work with contract manufacturers to validate product qualification using consigned test equipment.
Create documentation for tester maintenance and support.
Review and implement engineering change requests (ECR - ECO).
Contribute to design reviews, improve automated functional tests.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Rigorous engineering design-based methodology combined with multi-disciplinary engineering skills.
Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems or robots.
Ability to troubleshoot connected devices and sensors on Windows based machines.
Workflow management using Jira and documentation in Confluence.
Experience with version control management systems (EPDM, Bitbucket, Stash)
Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.

Minimum education and work experience required:

Bachelor’s Degree in related engineering discipline.
5+ years of experience in a cross functional role dealing with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering.
