Software Development Engineer - 2

At CommerceIQ, you will help build a new team focused on creating AI-first products that enable brands and retailers to win in digital commerce. As a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer, you will be an early member of this team, helping define the architecture, systems, and product experiences that power how our customers monitor, optimise, and grow their eCommerce businesses.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a zero-to-one product, with real ownership over technical direction and user experience. We are looking for engineers who are comfortable navigating ambiguity, enjoy working in a fast-moving environment, and care deeply about building high-quality products backed by robust, reusable systems. This position sits within CommerceIQ's core AI initiatives, so curiosity about AI-driven experiences and thoughtful UX is a strong plus.

You will collaborate closely with product and design to bring ideas from whiteboard sketches to live systems, iterate quickly with tight feedback loops, and make sound technical decisions that scale over time. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, thrives in evolving problem spaces, and is excited to build software that is both intuitive for users and dependable behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic AI products and capabilities from the ground up.
• Design and deliver fullstack features with a high degree of autonomy.
• Convert product requirements into scalable technical solutions across the stack.
• Help shape and implement the core architecture of a new product.
• Work with cross-functional partners across engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to gather requirements and integrate with the broader CommerceIQ platform.
• Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to technical documentation.
• Participate in code reviews and help set strong engineering standards for the team.
  
  

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience building and shipping production-grade agentic or generative AI systems in a fullstack setting.
• Familiarity with technologies such as Python, Node, React, Postgres, Databricks, and AWS, or comparable stacks.
• Ability to independently decompose complex problems and drive solutions to completion.
• Strong product sense and experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners.
• Comfort working in an early-stage or evolving environment where priorities can change quickly.
