Role Summary

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a client-facing engagement supporting and strengthening an existing platform team. The role is heavily Azure-focused, working with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) as the primary infrastructure platform, alongside some legacy workloads. A key part of the value is timezone-offset coverage, providing monitoring, incident response, and platform support during hours when the client's core team is offline.

Key Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, investigate, and stabilise platform issues as they arise — this is a hands-on role, not an oversight position
Follow, execute, and update runbooks for incident response and recovery
Provide off-hours platform coverage including triage, recovery, and escalation when the client's core team is offline
During quieter periods, perform standard DevOps development work: pipeline improvements, Terraform modules, automation, tooling
Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps (Azure Git/Repos); some exposure to Bitbucket for legacy projects
Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Monitor platform health using Azure-native monitoring tools and Datadog
Support migration of legacy workloads onto modern AKS-based infrastructure where applicable
Collaborate with the client's DevOps team to document and refine runbooks, alerts, and escalation procedures

Required Skills

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (AKS, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Azure Networking)
Solid Terraform skills for infrastructure provisioning and management
Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance in Azure DevOps
Container orchestration with Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, troubleshooting, helm charts)
Monitoring and observability using Azure-native tools and Datadog
Incident response and on-call/platform recovery experience
Familiarity with Bitbucket and Git-based workflows
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal), this is a client-facing role
Experience working in an international customer environment

Nice to Have

Experience with DigitalOcean infrastructure
Experience working in a managed services or staff augmentation model
ITIL or structured incident management background
Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, or AZ-305)

Engagement Model

Remote, Bangkok-based (GMT+7)
Full-time dedicated to client engagement
Timezone coverage providing monitoring and incident response outside client's core hours (CET/CEST)

Seniority

Senior preferred; strong mid-level candidates with proven hands-on troubleshooting experience will be considered
4–7+ years hands-on DevOps experience
