Job Description
You will be crucial in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of applications supporting the Wealth Management Business. This role emphasizes a proactive approach to system reliability through extensive automation and the strategic integration of Generative AI to optimize operational workflows and manual tasks. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency and innovation within our technology landscape.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide day-to-day support for all applications supporting Wealth Management Business and Applications.
- Monitor critical system components and troubleshoot problem areas effectively.
- Collaborate closely with development teams to deliver timely fixes for critical application issues.
- Create sustainable systems and services through comprehensive automation and continuous uplifts.
Responsibilities
- Perform business and impact analysis in a structured manner.
- Analyze and respond to end-user queries and issues efficiently and promptly.
- Coordinate with vendors for solution delivery and release upgrades.
- Execute system maintenance duties to ensure seamless application usage and adherence to compliance standards.
- Proactively identify problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
- Gather and analyze metrics for system performance tuning and fault finding.
- Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
- Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives.
- Conduct post-incident reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop comprehensive operational documentation and maintain a knowledge base of known issues and their solutions.
- Leverage Generative AI tools and techniques to automate routine operational tasks, enhance troubleshooting capabilities, and generate insights for system optimization.
- Drive the adoption of automation frameworks and tools to minimize manual intervention and improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Support and manage multiple client applications.
- Participate in 24x7 SRE on-call rotations and escalation workflows as required, including occasional weekend support.
- Adhere to SRE best practices and guidelines in all work aspects.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT application support for Avaloq system
- 5+ years of experience with a Degree in Business Information Science, Computer Science, or Engineering disciplines.
- Good knowledge of databases such as Oracle, MSSQL, and MariaDB.
- Knowledge of Investment Applications is a plus.
- Proficiency in programming languages/tools such as JAVA/J2EE, Spring, Webservices, SQL, Shell Scripting/Python, Messaging (Message Queue), GIT, and Kafka.
- Understanding of REST API Methods and Webhooks.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical steps to a non-technical audience.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based technologies and tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Elasticsearch, AppDynamics).
- Familiarity with various cloud technologies and a DevOps environment.
- Knowledge of banking or wealth systems like Avaloq, Marginman or Icos
- Experience in IBM WebSphere MQ, Connect Direct, SSH, Tivoli workload scheduler, and Linux/Unix environments.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate solutions effectively.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as a self-directed, independent contributor.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing automation solutions for operational tasks.
- Familiarity with Generative AI concepts and their application in IT operations, including but not limited to intelligent alerting, predictive analytics, and automated response generation.
