Solution Architect (InterSystems)

Role Summary::

We are seeking a highly experienced HealthShare Architect to lead the strategic vision, design, and governance of our Health Information Exchange (HIE) and interoperability platform built on InterSystems HealthShare and IRIS for Health.

This leadership role is responsible for ensuring a scalable, secure, and compliant architecture aligned with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and FHIR mandates, while supporting enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities::

Strategic & Architectural Design

• Define the technical roadmap and future-state architecture for HealthShare, including cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployments
• Lead design and implementation of large-scale clinical data integrations using InterSystems IRIS / HealthConnect
• Act as the technical authority for HealthShare components:
• UCR (Unified Care Record), Clinical Viewer, EMPI, Care Management
• Enable population health analytics and AI/ML initiatives through SDA data harmonization
• Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of integration workflows

Technical Governance & Standards

• Establish and enforce development, security, and integration standards
• Guide teams on best practices in:
• ObjectScript, DTL, XSLT, BPL
• Define strategy for modern interoperability standards (HL7 FHIR, HL7 V2, CDA/CCDA, IHE)
• Oversee security architecture including:

authentication, authorization, consent management, data masking/filtering.

Experience Required::

✔️10+ years in Healthcare IT, including

✔️5+ years in InterSystems HealthShare architecture

Required Skills

🚀Core Technical Expertise:

✔️InterSystems HealthShare & IRIS for Health / HealthConnect (Expert Level)

✔️Caché ObjectScript development and integration architecture

✔️Healthcare interoperability standards:

• HL7 V2, FHIR, CDA/CCDA, IHE profiles

✔️High-volume integration design & performance tuning

✔️Data modeling, database optimization (Globals, indexing)

🚀Architecture & Platform Skills:

• HIE architecture & enterprise integration patterns
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Security & compliance (HIPAA, data privacy, consent management)

Scalable, high-availability system design

Preferred Qualifications::

• InterSystems Certified Architect or equivalent certifications
• Experience integrating with Epic, Cerner, or other clinical systems
• Knowledge of analytics platforms (DeepSee, Health Insight)
• Exposure to DevOps tools (Git, GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines)
