Development is the largest discipline at Endava. Our developers design, build, and release software products in multiple programming languages, frameworks, and libraries. Always collaborating with cross-functional project teams, our developers are adaptable problem-solvers with a client-orientated mindset.

As a Senior Java Developer at Endava, you will work on exciting and challenging projects using Java technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Designs, estimates, and implements technical solutions for medium-/high-complexity applications.
• Participates actively in all phases of the application development lifecycle.
• Facilitates the planning, implementation, and delivery of software, ensuring that it is completed on time, following agreed requirements, and adhering to established quality standards.
• Collaborates with various project stakeholders to provide support for clarifying requirements, processes, architecture, and priorities.
• Recommends and promotes IT industry standards, tools, and practices (DevOps, etc.) to achieve well-engineered software products.
• Proposes improvements and escalates risks/issues related to development activities.
• Learns, applies, and promotes new technologies, practices, and tools as appropriate to the project.
• Participates in internal and external tech communities, events, etc.
• Shares experience and knowledge gained from projects.
  
  

• 5+ years’ experience in Java.
• Experience in Java EE (EJB, JMS), Kafka, AWS, web services, and security.
• Experience in databases:
  SQL, Oracle, MS SQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra.
• Advanced engineering practices:
  TDD, BDD, XP, CI/CD, DDD, and design patterns.
• Familiarity with architectural patterns (microservices, cloud-based, and micro-kernel) and quality attributes.
• Good documentation skills and ability to operate with technical diagrams (UML, Gliffy, and draw.io).
• Fluent English.
• Experience in the banking business domain, payments & especially ISO20022 is a big plus.
