Sr. QA Software Engineer

Description

Extreme’s Service Provider OS Engineering team is a group of talented engineers dedicated to building scalable, reliable, and secure servicer provider-based solutions / products. We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sr SQA Engineer who can deeply understand customer solutions and execute test scenarios with precision. This role is responsible for ensuring that all our test environments are fully provisioned and automated to support comprehensive, end to end validation workflows. The Candidate must be able to work closely with software design / development engineers and other SQA engineers to ensure the product quality and optimize customer solutions. It is important for the candidate to be able to understand feature requirements and translate to test cases and test automation. This position requires sound critical thinking, troubleshooting, test planning and test execution

Experience

5 to 7 years of relevant industry experience

Qualifications

Minimum of B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA or equivalent in CS/EEE/ECE/EEE

Roles and Responsibilities

• Strong Troubleshooting skills and working knowledge into L2 /L2 Protocols and Data Plane Forwarding
• Working Knowledge of Multi-chassis Link Aggregation (MLAG / MCT) Technologies
• Working Knowledge of Layer-3 Protocols - IPv4/IPv6, OSPFv2/v3, IS-IS, BGP4, IGMP, PIM SM/SSM
• Working Knowledge of L2 protocols- (STP/MSTP/RSTP, 802.1q/ad/aq, 802.3ah, 802.1ag/Y.1731 (Ethernet OAM/CFM))
• Experience in working with test tools like Ixia, STC and packet sniffers
• Experience in scripting languages like Python, Perl, Tcl and Tk
• Experience with Defect tracking tools and test case management tools like Quality Centre
• Experience in version control systems like CVS, GitHub and test automation IDE Framework
• Experience in tools development to optimize functional and system qualifications
