About Our Client — Toorak Capital Partners

You will be part of a dedicated engineering team supporting Toorak Capital Partners, a leading U.S.-based integrated correspondent lending platform that funds residential, multifamily, and mixed-use real estate loans across the U.S. and U.K. Headquartered in Summit, New Jersey, Toorak’s leadership team brings deep expertise across real estate lending, capital markets, securitization, asset management, and credit. To date, Toorak-funded projects have renovated or stabilized housing for 9,000+ families — averaging 500+ families every month.This is a rare opportunity to build mission-critical, cloud-based mortgage technology platforms that directly support one of the most respected players in the global mortgage finance industry.

Intern - Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic SRE/DevOps Intern to join our team. This role is perfect for a quick learner eager to work on cutting-edge technologies and gain hands-on experience in building, automating, and maintaining scalable infrastructure. The intern will work closely with our engineering team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of our systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the team to develop, deploy, and maintain infrastructure using tools like Terraform and GCP.
Assist in automating CI/CD pipelines with Groovy, Jenkins, and Git to streamline deployment processes.
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on Kubernetes (K8s) clusters.
Create Dashboards, monitor and enhance system performance and reliability using observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus.
Learn and implement best practices in infrastructure as code, system monitoring, and incident response.
Participate in sprint planning and contribute ideas for improving processes and tools.

Requirements:

Quick learner with a strong passion for technology and problem-solving.
Basic understanding of cloud computing, containerization, and infrastructure concepts.
Proactive and eager to take ownership of tasks and challenges.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Familiarity with one or more technologies listed: GCP, Kubernetes (K8s), Terraform, Jenkins, Groovy, Git, Grafana, Prometheus.

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Groovy.
Hands-on experience with Linux systems administration and Kubernetes configuration.
Knowledge of monitoring and alerting principles.
Familiarity with Agile or DevOps practices.
