Job Description

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer Intern to join us in scaling our platform, digitalising businesses across Asia, uplifting rider livelihoods, and building a hyper-convenient experience for our customers. Responsibilities

• Gain exposure by working in a cross-functional product team to design and build backend services that support our products across global and APAC markets.
• Learn and apply modern backend development practices, including building APIs and services that power customer-facing applications.
• Assist in developing, maintaining, and improving scalable backend systems and services.
• Understand and apply software design principles (e.g. SOLID) and common backend design patterns.
• Write clean, testable, scalable, and maintainable code in accordance with company standards and best practices.
• Contribute to backend features that run on a high-scale technology platform serving millions of users.
• Gain first-hand experience in building, testing, and operating distributed systems in a production environment.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Prior internship experience in product, e-commerce, or technology companies is a plus, but not required.
• Exposure to backend development concepts such as APIs, databases, and server-side programming.
• Basic understanding of software design patterns, design principles, software architecture, and testing methodologies (unit, integration, functional).
• Familiarity with relational databases and basic data modeling concepts is a plus.
• Highlight any side projects, coursework, or personal projects you’ve built — this helps us understand your interests and passion for backend engineering.
• Passionate about software development, problem-solving, and learning new technologies.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
