SysOps & Azure Cloud Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

FPT Software is looking for a SysOps & Azure Cloud Engineer to join a key program serving major global customers. In this combined role, you will be responsible for both maintaining robust on-premises/hybrid server infrastructure and operating cloud-based solutions on Microsoft Azure — including Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

System Administration & Infrastructure

• Ensure stability, reliability, and performance of customer server infrastructure.
• Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers (including VMware environments).
• Manage server operating systems and apply security patches and updates.
• Implement IAM policies, RBAC, MFA, and integrate with directory services.
• Maintain backup and recovery systems using tools such as Veeam.
• Provide support at the application layer including Office 365, Intune, and Active Directory/Azure Entra.

Azure Cloud & AVD Operations

• Monitor and operate cloud-based systems/applications on Azure to ensure stability and reliability.
• Manage and support Azure resources: VMs, AKS, Storage Accounts, Active Directory/Entra, Application Gateway, Key Vault, etc.
• Master Image Management for AVD environments.
• Install AVD connection programs and guide users on connection procedures.
• Handle AVD connection failures, security patches, and simple/AD policy inquiries.
• Handle L2 incidents: perform root cause analysis, collaborate with relevant teams for resolution, and minimize downtime.
• Participate in disaster recovery (DR) drills/testing and ensure systems meet security, compliance, and governance requirements.
• Build and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports to support operations.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and operational guides.

REQUIREMENTS

[Required]

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with 3+ years of experience in system administration and/or cloud operations.
• Proficiency in Windows Server administration and VMware technologies.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and FSLogix profile management.
• Strong knowledge of Azure services including Networking, Virtual Machines, Storage, and Identity Management.
• In-depth knowledge of Office 365, Azure AD/Entra, Intune, Defender for Endpoint, and Group Policy management.
• Expertise in IAM, MFA, and security auditing.
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation.
• Experience with Veeam backup and recovery solutions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.

[Preferred]

• Microsoft Certifications (e.g., AZ-140, AZ-104, AZ-500).
• Experience with Windows 365 Cloud PC.
• Knowledge of WVD/AVD scaling, cost management, and optimization.
• Experience in hybrid AVD deployments.
• Understanding of Citrix or VMware Horizon in relation to AVD.
