Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
3 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
Experience with machine learning, distributed processing, and data warehousing.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience with SQL and relational databases.
Experience building ML platforms and applied ML.
Experience with Distributed Systems and Services.
Experience in C++ and Python programming.
Experience in artificial intelligence.

BigQuery Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) is on a mission to democratize AI and ML. It takes away all the complexity and issues of doing AI and ML and reduces it down to a few lines of Structured Query Language (SQL) statements to train and predict machine learning models. Over the past few years, BigQuery Machine Learning (BQML) has grown into a powerful AI and ML platform; it is growing rapidly in terms of usage and is a key differentiator for BigQuery. In this role, you will work with BigQuery, Vertex AI, and other GCP services to help elevate BigQuery to the next level.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Contribute to the development of system components, AI/ML algorithms and more to advance BigQuery's capabilities.
Demonstrate a passion for AI, ML and data analytics, and staying current with emerging trends and technologies in these areas.
Drive technical discussions within the team, proposing new ideas, and sharing knowledge to improve the team's overall effectiveness.
Promote engineering excellence within the team by adhering to best practices, coding standards, and software engineering principles.
