Google Cloud Storage is a distributed service that supports global Artificial Intelligence (AI), consumer, and enterprise companies, as well as startups.

The GCS Clients team is the primary interface for all users and applications accessing the capabilities of Google Cloud Storage (GCS). Our mission is to enable customer success for the demanding Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning (AI/ML) and investigative workloads.

Qualifications

Job responsibilities

Take ownership of new features from concept to launch by writing code, authoring design documents, and providing feedback in design reviews to influence technical direction.
Lead the design of GCS client software (e.g., Software Development Kits (SDKs), connectors), with a focus on creating a quality developer experience.
Define and lead the strategy for benchmarking, engaging analysis, and performance optimization across all GCS clients.
Lead in design and code reviews, establish standards for engineering excellence. Act as the engineering lead for the customer-reported problems. Ensure the output is well-architected.
Set the technical standard for the team by mentoring other engineers in best practices for debugging, performance optimization, and writing customer-centric client code.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with software development and developing large-scale infrastructure, storage or distributed systems.
5 years of experience in testing, and launching software products.
3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners.

Preferred qualifications

Experience with storage technologies.
Experience with AI/ML and investigative workloads.
Experience in building and maintaining infrastructure software in a distributed environment.
