At GrabFin, we empower the people of Southeast Asia by ensuring financial inclusion for the underserved. The Insurance Operations PST in Malaysia supports Insurance products and owns Accounting, Reports, Internal Tools, and Third-Party Integration domains for insurance products.

Get to know the Role

You will report to the Engineering Manager, Insurance Operations, based in Malaysia and develop backend systems powering accounting, reporting, and third-party integrations for insurance products. You will work on BNM regulatory reporting capabilities and local partnership integrations. We're looking for candidates that embody ownership, display a hunger for learning and improvement, and excel in autonomy.

This role is onsite based in our Petaling Jaya, Malaysia office.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will develop high-quality and scalable backend applications for accounting, reporting, and integration services
• You will build and maintain third-party integrations (ISM, APAD, JPJ) for regulatory compliance
• You will write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to solve challenging problems
• You will collaborate with diverse teams to design and ship new features
• You will participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge
• You will troubleshoot, debug complex issues, and provide quick resolutions
• You will contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction
• You will participate in On-Call rotations to ensure service reliability
  
  

Qualifications

What Essential Skills You will Need

• You have 2+ years of relevant experience in software development
• You have proficiency in Java (preferred) and/or Golang
• You have experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and Git
• You have computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures
• You have hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
• You have experience with clean architecture principles and SOLID principles
• You have experience with financial/regulatory systems is a plus
