Quality Assurance Engineer

(Design Quality Assurance Engineer - NB & Tablet)

Design verification activities to design quality into Surface products. Activities include develop and execution test plans and procedures. Perform functional, stress, system, and other types of testing.

Understand test and logging tools requirements and executions, must be able to execute tests with little to no supervision.

Find complex bugs, root cause, and track them while documenting and informing others of all appropriate and relevant info.

Platform Test for Microsoft Surface laptops and tablets.

Key stakeholder to co-work:

Development team in Taiwan, China, US, or India, it depends on different projects.

Workload:

1. Perform functional, stress, system testing: 70 %
2. App testing: 10 %
3. Develop Test plan & procedures: 10 %
4. Create test for new features/apps: 10%

Required Skills:

• 3+ yrs exp. on Testing device - planned test cases, adhoc testing
• Flash devices
• Sideloading drivers to device
• Reproduce bugs reported with extra logging needed by dev team
• Add proper repro steps to bug
• Communicate with different teams/email groups
• Generate reports
• App testing on device
• Enhance/develop test cases for new features/apps
• Knowledge of testing
• Good written and oral communication

Additional Desirable Skills:

• Can write script to perform several tasks related to device set up, collection of logs
• Understand drivers in brief
• Can modify/generate Power BI report needed by team
• Data mindset to present testing results and need in terms of data/reports
• Willing to think and work on ambiguous need of team/testing area
• Simplify testing

Other qualifications

• Bilingual capability is required (Mandarin & English). Mandarin speaking/reading is an essential skill in HCLTech Taiwan.
• Taiwan APRC is required w/ expat.
