About team: Our Visual & Spatial Content teams bring together 3D capabilities and deep location expertise to build high-quality maps and spatial data products. This includes everything from lane‑level detail to city‑scale modeling, helping our customers understand their environments and make more informed decisions. The team works across the full HERE UniMap architecture — from tooling and data processing to platform‑level content delivery.

Whats the role

As a Lead Data Scientist, you will drive the development and advancement of AI and machine learning solutions across multiple product lines. In this role, you will:

• Lead efforts to design, develop, and enhance AI/ML workflows, models, and algorithms.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on diverse topics such as vegetation, building footprints and attributes, point clouds, sign detection, and motorway junction abstractions.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and technical approach.
• Coach and support team members, fostering strong ML and AI capabilities across the group.
• Continuously explore and implement best practices, new methodologies, and emerging technologies.

Who Are you ?

You are an experienced data scientist with strong technical depth and a collaborative mindset. You bring:

Hands‑on experience developing, testing, and deploying machine learning and AI solutions.

Strong understanding of learning algorithms, computer vision, 3D math, geometry, point clouds, and graphics.

Experience working in cloud‑based distributed environments and in Agile development settings.

Exposure to the complete software development lifecycle — from requirements to deployment.

Experience deploying models on cloud platforms using Docker or Kubernetes.

Proficiency in Java/Scala and Python, with C++ experience as a strong advantage.

Clear and effective communication skills.
