JDE Software Engineer

Job Overview

We are hiring an experienced JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Software Engineer for an exciting opportunity

with one of our prominent US clients in the automotive distribution sector. This is a fully remote role

requiring availability aligned with EST working hours.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of enterprise applications built on the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne platform. You will work closely with internal functional stakeholders, contribute to timely project deliveries, and help maintain the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test system applications using defined development processes, tools, standards, and methodologies

• Execute thorough developer unit testing leveraging available use cases

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for newly developed systems and operational processes

• Monitor system services to ensure consistent reliability and timely issue resolution

• Interface with internal functional teams and key business stakeholders

• Provide ongoing support for deployed system applications

• Ensure timely and successful delivery of development tasks and projects

• Coordinate effectively across the broader Information Technology organisation

Required Qualifications

Academic and Professional Background

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a minimum of 4+ years of directly related experience

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Technical Skills

• Minimum 5+ years of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne programming experience, including hands-on work

with JDE EnterpriseOne 9.2

• Experience in developer unit testing practices

• Proficiency developing within the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Development Tool Kit JDE EnterpriseOne Component Expertise

• UBE (Universal Business Engine): Batch programs for server-side processing such as report generation, data updates, and background jobs

• TC (Table Conversions): Data migration and conversion tooling used across upgrades and external

integrations

• BSFN (Business Functions): Reusable C-coded modules encapsulating core business logic, callable

across applications and UBEs

• NER (Named Event Rules): Event-driven scripting for form and UBE behaviour, handling user

interactions and validations

• UDO (User Defined Objects): Configuration and personalisation objects introduced in 9.2, including

Watchlists, Notifications, Composite Pages, and Orchestrations

• EDI (Electronic Data Interchange): Standardised electronic document exchange with trading partners

using formats such as ANSI X12 or EDIFACT

• Orchestrator: Low-code automation and integration framework exposing JDE logic as REST APIs and

enabling workflows with external systems

• Interface Design: End-to-end integration design covering data mappings, transaction flows, and

communication protocols across flat files, APIs, and web services

Good to Have

• Experience with distributed application development in a client/server environment, preferably on

iSeries

• Functional knowledge of JDE EnterpriseOne modules in Finance and Supply Chain

• Database experience with DB2
