Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong cloud experience to manage, maintain, and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security of PostgreSQL databases deployed on cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL database systems in on-premise and cloud environments
• Manage database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) strategies including replication, backups, and failover
• Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues
• Implement and maintain database security, access controls, and compliance standards
• Work closely with development and DevOps teams for database design and deployment
• Automate routine database tasks using scripting tools
• Manage database migrations and upgrades with minimal downtime
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide root cause analysis

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA
• Strong expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, replication, and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with managed database services (e.g., RDS, Cloud SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL)
• Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database design principles
• Knowledge of backup and recovery tools (pg_dump, pg_basebackup, WAL archiving, etc.)
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix systems
• Experience with automation tools and scripting (Shell, Python, or similar)
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or similar
• Exposure to other databases (Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL) is a plus
• Certifications in cloud or database technologies
