The Customer Support Business Group focuses on enabling our customers with premier customer support throughout their lifecycle with Lam. We drive performance, productivity, safety, and quality of customers installed base performance and deliver service and lifecycle solutions for their most critical equipment and processes.

The impact you’ll make

As a Software Application Engineer at Lam, you’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and adoption of our software products.

You will lead the design and development of scalable architectures for robotic control interfaces. Your work will directly impact the performance and reliability of our robotic systems, enabling seamless integration between hardware and software.

What You’ll Do

Leading the full-stack development activities, ensuring best practices in coding, architecture and deployment
Architecting scalable and high-performance systems to handle real-time sensor and robot data
Build robust Restful APIs or GraphQL endpoints for real-time data streaming, authentication and system configuration
Create intuitive and high performance dashboards to monitoring robot application status, diagnostics, logs and teleoperation
Collaborate with the robotics software team to bridge web technologies with the robotics hardware
Database management for storing logs, mission data and user and robot configurations
Build low-latency systems for critical real-time robotic monitoring

Who We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3+ years; or a PhD with no previous professional experience; or equivalent work experience.
Experience with building scalable web applications for robotics systems.
Profeciency in MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js and Node.js) and python
Experience with websockets or similar technologies
Experience with version control and docker
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with at least one of the following is a plus

- Robotics knowledge, specifically ROS1 or ROS2 frameworks
- UI/UX design experience and familiarity with design tools like Figma
- Experience with docker for deploying web applications
- Experience with 3D web visualization libraries for rendering robot models.
- Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration tools
- Familiarity with testing frameworks for full-stack applications

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
