Job Summary

The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, enhancing, upgrading, and optimizing Sterling OMS solutions, while working closely with business stakeholders, architects, and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design

• Act as a Solution Architect for IBM Sterling OMS implementations and enhancements.
• Understand and articulate the end-to-end OMS architecture, including integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
• Evaluate business requirements and recommend feasible, scalable, and high-performing solutions.
• Provide architectural guidance on customizations vs. OMS standard features.

IBM Sterling OMS Expertise

• Lead design and development for IBM Sterling OMS modules, including:
• Order Sourcing
• Inventory Management
• Order Promising & Fulfillment
• Fulfilment portal – including Picklist/Pack/Ship/Manifest features
• Drive OMS upgrades, patches, and version migrations, ensuring minimal business disruption.
• Design and implement enhancements and extensions aligned with best practices.

Performance & Optimization

• Analyze system behaviour and proactively suggest performance improvements.
• Identify bottlenecks related to sourcing, inventory, APIs, and batch jobs.
• Ensure OMS solutions meet high availability, scalability, and performance standards.

Business Analytics & Stakeholder Engagement

• Strong ability to analyze business processes and translate them into OMS solutions.
• Collaborate with business users to validate requirements and ensure solution alignment.
• Support data-driven decision-making using OMS insights and analytics.

DevOps & Delivery Model

• Work within a DevOps delivery model, Containers, POD etc.
• Collaborate with CI/CD teams on deployments, monitoring, and release management.
• Support automation, environment strategy, and operational readiness.

Leadership & Mentoring

• Provide technical leadership to development teams.
• Review designs, code, and configurations for quality and adherence to standards.
• Mentor junior team members on Sterling OMS best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling OMS
• Strong experience in Order Sourcing and Inventory Management
• Proven experience in solution design, enhancements, and upgrades
• Solid understanding of enterprise OMS architecture and integrations
• Strong business analytics and requirement analysis skills
• Experience working in Agile / Container/POD DevOps environments
• Ability to clearly communicate what is technically feasible vs. non-feasible
• Experience with performance tuning and optimization
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills

Good to Have

• Experience with cloud-based OMS deployments
• Exposure to microservices and API-led integrations
• Knowledge of retail, e-commerce, or omnichannel domains
