Markets Product Engineering team focuses on delivering automation, cloud adoption, and resilient solutions that support the LSEG Markets business.
Role Description:
This role is for a
Senior Reliability Engineer within the Product Engineering team in
Infrastructure Service Delivery – Markets. The role focuses on
hands‑on engineering to improve reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency across large‑scale infrastructure platforms through
automation‑first, cloud‑native, and SRE practices.
You will work closely with product, platform, and operations teams to
reduce operational toil, improve resilience, and modernise infrastructure delivery, while contributing to the adoption of
intelligent and agent‑driven automation across operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
Reliability & Automation Engineering
- Design, build, and enhance automation solutions that reduce manual effort across infrastructure and platform operations.
- Automate repetitive tasks such as provisioning, deployments, health checks, patching, and incident workflows.
- Develop and maintain internal tools, scripts, APIs, and automation frameworks using modern engineering practices.
- Contribute to an automation‑first mindset, ensuring solutions are reusable, testable, and well‑documented.
Infrastructure as Code & CI/CD
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support reliable and repeatable infrastructure and platform changes.
- Use Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools to provision and manage environments at scale.
- Embed validation, safety checks, and rollback mechanisms into pipelines.
Cloud Engineering
- Provide hands‑on engineering support for Azure and/or AWS infrastructure.
- Automate cloud resource provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management with a focus on reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Support adoption of cloud‑native patterns and managed services.
Observability & Operational Excellence
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and telemetry using modern observability platforms.
- Support automated and semi‑automated remediation for common failure scenarios.
- Participate in incident response, post‑incident reviews, and continuous improvement of reliability practices.
Agentic & Intelligent Automation
- Apply agentic AI and intelligent automation concepts to operational workflows such as incident triage, diagnostics, and automated remediation.
- Contribute to AI‑assisted tooling (e.g. chatbot‑driven ops, runbook execution, event‑driven automation).
- Support initiatives around AIOps, decision support, and self‑healing infrastructure, under guidance from lead engineers and architects.
Collaboration & Engineering Practice
- Work collaboratively across engineering, operations, and product teams.
- Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Share knowledge and support junior engineers through example and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in DevOps, SRE, automation, or platform engineering roles.
- Hands‑on programming/scripting experience (Python, Go, Shell, or similar).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Pulumi etc;) and CI/CD platforms(Gitlab CI/CD, Jenkins etc;).
- Practical experience working in Azure and/or AWS environments.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, Linux/Windows platforms, and networking fundamentals.
- Comfortable participating in on‑call support and operational incident response.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containers and orchestration platforms (e.g. Kubernetes).
- Exposure to modern observability tooling and SRE practices.
- Hands‑on or conceptual exposure to AIOps, agent‑based automation, or AI‑assisted operational tools.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Knowledge on infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, Shell, or PowerShell).
- Awareness of monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Datadog, ELK, CloudWatch).
- Prior experience in agile or collaborative team environments.
