Job Description

As Lead Data Scientist, you will be responsible for creating production-grade data science solutions to solve Maya’s complex business problems. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and how data can be used in achieving company targets and business goals.

NATURE OF WORK

Leadership & Delivery

Identify opportunities wherein artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) can exert a substantial influence, dissecting these challenges into precise requirements for AI solutions.
Formulate lucid and succinct roadmaps delineating AI and machine learning initiatives, adeptly communicating them to all stakeholders and ensuring alignment with the overarching business strategy.
Define project scopes, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
Assess the business impact and effectiveness of solutions.
Advocate for the integration of AI and machine learning methodologies throughout the organization.
Enhance existing processes and operational methods to elevate current efficiencies.
Foster innovation by advocating for unconventional, novel applications of new technologies and algorithms.
Collaborate closely with business leaders, data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders to formulate and execute a comprehensive AI and machine learning strategy tailored to the bank's needs.

Technical Skills

Lead the translation of high-level business problems into actionable, technical Data Science frameworks.
Drive innovation by developing and deploying sophisticated machine learning and AI models as required.
Validate the methodologies, analytical approaches, and codebases of developers to ensure strict alignment with both technical standards and business requirements.
Relay the results of model developments to stakeholders, providing clarity on the impact and value of the team's technical outputs.

People Management

Actively mentor both senior and junior developers, guiding their progress in technical expertise and soft-skill development.
Build individual career plans for your team members, ensuring their professional trajectory aligns with organizational goals.
Lead engagement activities and propose new organizational structures to meet business goals while prioritizing the career satisfaction and well-being of the team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

With at least a bachelor’s degree in any technology related discipline (i.e. Statistics, Computer Science, etc.)
Having at least 5 years of data science & AI experience as a developer
Having at least 3 years of experience managing & leading a team
Finance or banking domain background is a plus
Experience in product scaling and business growth is a plus
Research and development experience is a plus
