CORE PROFILE

As a Software Engineer on the Personalization Platform team, you’ll join a cross-functional engineering squad working on real-time, AI- and ML-powered features across mobile and backend. You will be involved in all stages of the product, from shaping its vision to building and delivering it for Maya’s users.

Your work will improve features that millions of users in the Philippines and beyond rely on every day.

NATURE OF WORK

Design, plan, and implement high-quality features using native code (Kotlin or Swift).
Build and maintain common modules, shared SDKs, reusable UI components, and internal tools.
Work closely with other teams using the personalization features, ensuring it meets their evolving needs.
Lead or contribute to proof-of-concepts, technical investigations, and architectural discussions.
Solve complex technical challenges such as app performance monitoring, scalability, and security.
Promote and ensure the use of best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), code reviews, and unit/integration tests.
Stay up to date with Flutter, Android and iOS updates and help evolve Maya’s mobile development standards and practices.
Support and mentor team members.

SKILL MASTERY

Strong experience in native mobile development (Android and/or iOS).
Strong experience in Flutter and Dart.
Proficient in Git and modern mobile CI/CD workflows, including automated testing, static analysis, and release pipelines.
Solid grasp of clean architecture and design patterns such as MVVM or MVP.
Demonstrated ability to debug and solve complex mobile issues, with a mindset for optimization and performance tuning.
Experience with defining features and their scope, technical vision and roadmap.
Comfortable designing and documenting architecture using tools like UML (sequence, component, and deployment diagrams).
Effective communication and teamwork in an Agile environment (we use Scrum).
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and provide technical leadership when needed.
A proactive learner who keeps up with the latest trends in mobile development and is passionate about driving best practices within Maya's Flutter community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years software development experience.
Solid experience building mobile apps using Kotlin (Android) and/or Swift (iOS).
Experience building mobile apps using Flutter and Dart.
Solid knowledge of mobile operating systems, and the Flutter ecosystem.
