As the Principal Engineer for DevOps & Cloud, you will own the technical vision, architecture, and evolution of MiQ’s cloud infrastructure, CI/CD delivery systems, observability stack, and DevSecOps practices. This role carries significant leadership expectations: setting technical direction across teams, driving platform-as-a-product thinking, mentoring engineers, and representing the platform perspective in architectural forums and leadership discussions. You will be a force multiplier — your success is measured not just by what you deliver, but by how much better you make the teams and systems around you.

Who are your stakeholders?

Key stakeholders include the Engineering leadership, Product Leads, Security Engineering, and Leads across Engineering, Data Science and Analytics.

What you’ll bring

10–14 years of experience in devops, infrastructure, or platform engineering with deep expertise in cloud-native architectures.
Deep, hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) — networking, compute, storage, identity and access management, and security services.
Production experience operating and scaling container orchestration platforms(kubernetes).
Strong track record with Infrastructure-as-Code — module authoring, state management, and CI-driven provisioning workflows.
Experience designing and operating CI/CD platforms at scale for large engineering organisations.
Understanding of DevSecOps principles: shift-left security, policy-as-code, automated compliance, and secure-by-default infrastructure.
Experience building observability platforms — metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting.
Excellent communication skills — ability to translate complex infrastructure concepts for engineering, product, and leadership audiences.

What impact will you create?

As a Principal Engineer, you will create a lasting impact by setting the technical direction for how MiQ builds, ships, secures, and operates its products. Your work will improve deployment velocity and safety for engineering teams across the organisation and reduce infrastructure costs through architectural optimisation and governance. Through platform-as-a-product thinking and proactive collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will establish technical standards that scale with MiQ’s growth, accelerate the adoption of modern cloud-native practices, and play a key role in making the platform team a strategic enabler for the entire engineering organisation.
