Product Manager

Your Job

As the local High Power Product Manager based at our Penang, Malaysia plant, you will represent the high-power product portfolio for the Power & Signal Business Unit (PSBU). You will drive new product development and manufacturability, lead technical discussions with manufacturing, coordinate supplier and customer interactions across Southeast Asia, and own product launch readiness activities such as SAP material master loading, inventory strategy, product costing, and VAVE validation to ensure timely, cost-effective production and ramp of high-power products.

Our Team

You will join Molex’s Power & Signal Business Unit (PSBU) within the high-power group at the Penang, Malaysia plant. The team supports rapid BU growth and products that enable technologies such as artificial intelligence, working closely with Manufacturing Engineers, regional Global Commodity Managers, Finance, suppliers, and customers across Southeast Asia.

What You Will Do

Serve as the local High Power Product Manager representative at the Penang plant, acting as the primary product contact for plant, supplier, and customer issues.

New Product Development

• Participate in core team meetings
• Lead technical discussions with our Manufacturing Engineers to ensure the manufacturability and cost effectiveness of their proposed solutions
• Drive plant to meet or beat targeted completion dates
• Accelerate loading of SAP material master
• Track and prioritize customer sample requests
• Determine our initial inventory strategy
  
  
  

Plant

• Ensure plant has sufficient capacity to meet our demand forecast
• Monitor and update our inventory strategy as volumes ramp
• Identify lead time and cost improvements
  
  
  

Suppliers

• Assist our regional Global Commodity Managers (GCMs)
• Determine whether our existing suppliers should continue to be on our approved vendor list
• Review each approved supplier’s product capacity and address any supply issues
• Identify new suppliers who can provide new capabilities or additional capacity
  
  
  

Product costing review

• Ensure local Finance is appropriately updating our product cost
• Value Adding & Value Engineering (VAVE) activities
• Review plant VAVE projects to set priority and validate the proposed cost saving
  
  
  

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of product marketing experience supporting a manufacturing plant, ideally in electronics, interconnect, electromechanical, or similar technology industries.
• Fluent communication skills in English and Mandarin Chinese.

• Solid understanding of business metrics used to fund programs and measure product success; willingness to travel to suppliers and customers as required.
