Senior QA Automation Engineer

As this role requires both individual contribution and initiative, you should have:

• Deep understanding of end-to-end Quality Assurance processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with Product Managers, Technology Managers, developers, and QA engineers and to understand current and future testing needs.
• Willingness to learn the functional aspects of the application to create domain-oriented test cases and maximize coverage with the minimum number of tests.
• Experience defining best practices and providing technical mentorship to other QA team members.
• Ability to build strong working relationships within the team by communicating clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies, especially Scrum.
• A fast learner who is open to adopting new technologies as needed.
  
  
  

Requirements:

Technical abilities showcasing breadth and depth of technical knowledge:

• Strong understanding of modern web application architecture, with JavaScript driving application flow and APIs providing backend services.
• Experience building test strategies and writing high-quality test cases.
• Strong understanding of modern test automation frameworks and practices, including Playwright/Selenium/WebDriver-based web testing, as well as JavaScript-based testing for AngularJS and React applications (e.g., Protractor.js).
• Experience in API testing using Postman.
• Experience in performance testing using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, etc.
• Experience in security testing using Burp Suite is a plus.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI tools and techniques for enhancing QA and test automation processes is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing or automation frameworks will be an added advantage.
  
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software testing.
• Strong computer science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Java or JavaScript.
  
  
  

Preferred Skill Set

• Experience building test strategies and writing extensive test cases for large, complex web application systems.
• Experience building automation suites using Playwright, Selenium, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations using modern methodologies.
• Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through launch.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and management to gather requirements, explain testing strategy, test features, and present technical designs.
