Geospatial Software Engineer
(Senior Information Visualisation Engineer – Geospatial)

We are looking for an experienced GIS Application Expert specialising in Geospatial technologies and enterprise GIS platforms to join our team.

This role will focus on designing, developing, and optimising GIS applications and spatial data services, while working closely with technology partners to ensure high-quality and scalable geospatial solutions.

Key Responsibilities

GIS Application Development

• Lead the development and customisation of GIS applications using ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise platform

• Develop and maintain geospatial REST APIs and spatial services

• Design and implement FME workflows for spatial data transformation and integration

• Build tools for clash detection, spatial analytics, and geospatial visualisation

Spatial Data Engineering & Optimisation

• Optimise spatial queries and GIS services performance

• Manage spatial databases including Oracle Spatial and PostGIS

• Integrate multiple geospatial datasets and mapping services

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance on geospatial architecture and GIS platform design

• Conduct code reviews and ensure development quality standards

• Participate in technical planning, architecture discussions, and solution design

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with developers, data engineers, and government stakeholders

• Troubleshoot complex spatial data and mapping issues

• Maintain technical documentation and system specifications

• Provide technical consultation and knowledge sharing on GIS development

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years of development experience in geospatial technologies

• Strong experience in one or more areas:

  • 3D Mapping

  • Survey & Mapping

  • Map Layer Management

  • Global Positioning Systems (GPS)

Technical Skills

• GIS Platform: ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise

• Programming: Python, JavaScript

• Spatial Databases: Oracle Spatial or PostGIS

• Databases: Oracle, MySQL, or MS SQL Server

• Web Services: REST APIs, SOAP

• Version Control: GitLab or equivalent

• Data Transformation Tools: FME or similar ETL tools

• Knowledge of web mapping standards (OGC)

Development Environment

• Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments

Good to Have

• Experience working on Singapore Government GIS projects

• Knowledge of Singapore Government Technology Stack (SGTS)

• Experience using OneMap APIs

• Understanding of government security policies for spatial data

• Exposure to cloud-based GIS platforms

• Experience with 3D GIS or spatial big data processing

Project Experience

Candidates should ideally have experience in:

• Implementing enterprise GIS platforms

• Developing spatial analytics and geospatial services

• Creating automated spatial ETL pipelines

• Integrating multiple geospatial data sources and mapping systems
