Research Scientist (Computer Science/Software Engineering/Artificial Intelligence)

The Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab (ANGEL) represents a key collaboration between Alibaba Group and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Supported by the Singapore RIE2025 Fund, ANGEL creates and deploys impactful green digital technologies for global sustainability.

ANGEL’s mission aligns seamlessly with Singapore’s national objectives, such as the Singapore Green Plan 2030 and the Singapore Smart Nation Initiative. We are looking for a motivated Research Scientist to conduct innovative and impactful research in advanced machine learning, with a focus on recommendation systems, graph neural networks, and multimodal AI, by designing novel models and methodologies, and leveraging large-scale structured and unstructured data to enhance intelligent decision-making and real-world application performance.

Job Description

• Conduct high-quality research in recommendation systems, graph neural networks, and multimodal machine learning.
• Design and develop novel AI models for sequential recommendation, cross-domain learning, self-supervised learning, and knowledge distillation.
• Analyze large-scale structured and unstructured data, including user behavior, graph data, and multimodal content such as text and images.
  
  

Job Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Strong research background in recommendation systems, graph neural networks, and multimodal representation learning.
• Solid programming and model development skills in machine learning and deep learning frameworks.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in academic and interdisciplinary research environments.
