The Opportunity

The NDB team operates as a fast paced team within Nutanix and works on a product targeting the multi-billion-dollar database market. We are quite successful as an on-premises offering and see an enormous amount of interest from customers in the product.

Nutanix Database Service is the only hybrid multi-cloud DBaaS for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL. Efficiently manage hundreds to thousands of databases with no complex migration required. Quickly and easily provision new databases, automate important but tedious administrative tasks like patching and backups, and choose the right operating systems, database versions, and database extensions to meet application and compliance requirements.

About The Team

You will be joining the NDB team at Nutanix, based in Pune, India. The team prides itself on a supportive and collaborative culture, where coworkers work together to achieve success and support one another along the way.

You will report to the Senior Manager/Manager Engineering, who oversees the NDB team. The work setup at Nutanix is hybrid, requiring employees to come into the office 3 days a week. This balance allows for both in-person collaboration and flexibility for remote work.

There are no travel requirements for this position, allowing you to focus on your work and responsibilities without the need for frequent travel.

Your Role

Architect, design and develop enterprise life cycle management software for databases.

Architect, design and develop efficient, flexible, scalable, and robust software systems/components

Develop a deep understanding of customer use cases of various databases and design innovative solutions for customer requirements with a focus on performance.

Work on defining functionality that is easy-to-use, intuitive to customers.

Work closely with development, test, documentation and product management teams to deliver high-quality products in a fast-paced environment.

Follow a methodical approach to design that is future ready and scalable.

What You Will Bring

Experience working in Microservices, Kubernetes, Cloud Saas, Cloud Native applications.

A self-starter with excellent communication skills and a strong sense of ownership.

Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: Java, Python or Golang

Must be able to write efficient code with high quality.

Experience With Object-oriented Concepts And Design Is Required.

Experience working with enterprise software development in one of the domains (Web Services: (REST APIs, Java Web Services, Scalable Systems, Security, RBAC) is a plus.

Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle is a plus.

Nice to have experience with Linux Systems, Storage (SAN/NAS/HCI) and Virtualization

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required, along with 2-4 years' experience.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
