About the Role:

We are seeking a results-driven and technically proficient Senior Data Engineer (L2) to play a dual role in both solutioning-based initiatives and interview-driven ODC projects. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in high-impact environments, possess strong architectural thinking, and are ready to take on leadership responsibilities in the Data & AI space.

You will not only drive technical execution across diverse cloud and big data platforms but also mentor junior engineers, lead squads, and contribute to the design of scalable and intelligent data solutions that align with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the solution architecture and design of modern data platforms, bringing together data engineering, cloud, and GenAI capabilities.
• Translate business requirements into technical solution designs that span ingestion, transformation, and consumption layers.
• Take ownership of squad leadership, ensuring delivery velocity, code quality, and alignment with architecture best practices.
• Mentor L0s and L1s, offering technical direction and career guidance.
• Collaborate with pre-sales or solutioning teams to support client-facing discussions when required.
• Deliver production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud-native data solutions using specific technologies such as Azure, AWS, GCP, Python, SQL, PySpark, etc.
• Own data pipeline lifecycle—from development to deployment—ensuring robustness, performance, and maintainability.
• Engage with clients during interviews to demonstrate deep expertise and suitability for specific roles in long-term ODC/T&M engagements.
• Act as a specialist for targeted technologies where the organization has proven market traction.

Required Skills:

• Cloud Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in one or more cloud ecosystems (Azure/AWS/GCP).
• Programming: Advanced knowledge of Python and experience with data engineering libraries and frameworks.
• SQL Mastery: Proficient in advanced SQL, including CTEs, window functions, and tuning.
• Big Data: Working experience with Spark/PySpark for distributed data processing.
• ETL/ELT Design: Ability to create scalable data workflows and manage data movement efficiently.
• Data Architecture: Knowledge of data modeling (dimensional/star/snowflake) and storage best practices.
• Generative AI: Familiarity with integrating GenAI or LLM tools for data transformation, enrichment, or automation.
• DevOps & Version Control: Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile delivery frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrate experience in leading technical teams or squads.
• Prior exposure to solutioning and architectural design in large-scale data programs.
• Strong client communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Certifications in cloud/data engineering platforms (e.g., Azure Data Engineer, AWS Data Analytics).
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
