Job description:

The Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering effective solutions that address diverse business requirements, focusing on application architecture, system integration, and data management across cloud and on-premises platforms. This role requires collaboration with various teams to define solution strategies, maintain architectural standards, and support digital transformation efforts. A strong grasp of enterprise architecture, business process modelling, and stakeholder engagement is essential to ensure solutions align with organisational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Gather and analyse business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and work closely with stakeholders for project success.

• Responsible for designing secure, scalable solutions that meet Government Cloud, IM8, and AIAS standards, and for providing guidance on architecture patterns for cloud and data center environments.

• Defining, designing, implementing solutions in cloud computing architecture

• Leading technical architecture discussions and presenting solutions to stakeholders on identify new opportunities.

• Collaborating with a technical team of application developers, engineers, and designers to deliver innovative cost-effective technology solutions using cloud and data center services

• Create detailed architectural documentation, including diagrams and design. and to guide implementation and ensure clarity among stakeholders.

• Key Solution Architect responsibilities include enforcing architectural standards, automating processes, and creating proof-of-concept solutions using cloud and DevOps technologies.

• Act as a subject matter expert, providing advice and guidance on infrastructure innovation and best practices to internal teams and stakeholders.

• Manage relationships with external software development partners, ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards and timelines, and align with business objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline (Master’s degree is an advantage).

• Minimum 7 years' experience in solution architecture, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead architect role (government project experience is a plus).

• Experience in designing and deploying hybrid solutions for public cloud and on-premises platforms, ideally with government cloud and data center exposure.

• Solid understanding of networking, security, compute, storage, and disaster recovery.

• The candidate is skilled in cloud architecture, automation (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD, compliance frameworks, and DevOps practices using SHIP-HATS tools.

• Broad experience in IT domain including public cloud architecture and Hybrid applications across cloud and data centers

• Knowledge and experience of Containers, Micro-Services and Kubernetes

• Knowledge of Hybrid and Cloud Networking, Cloud Native Security Technologies

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, TOGAF) are desirable.

• Experience with scripting languages like Shell, Python, or Perl for automation is beneficial.

• Create detailed architectural documentation, including diagrams and design. and to guide implementation and ensure clarity among stakeholders.

• Strong organisational skills and adaptability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic environment.

• Effective team player with the ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively.

• Fluency in Chinese & English (written and spoken). Ability to communicate effectively in Chinese to liaise with Chinese-speaking clients/partners.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with experience influencing stakeholders at different levels.
